Irving "Home of the Dallas Cowboys"

Adjacent to the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, Irving is only 15 minutes west of
Dallas and 20 minutes east of Fort Worth. Home of the Dallas Cowboys and the PGA Tour's
GTE Byron Nelson Classic, Irving has 70 hotels and more than 10,000 hotel rooms within the
city limits.
Texas Stadium
Texas Stadium is the home of the five-time world champion Dallas Cowboys. The stadium has
a seating capacity of 65,812 seats, features 381 luxury boxes and a 10-acre roof with a
2.5-acre hole. The two Diamond Vision screens are three stories tall. Texas

Stadium was completed in 1971 at a cost of $35 million and replaced the Cotton Bowl at
Fair Park as the home of the Dallas Cowboys. One-hour tours of Texas Stadium are available
on non-game days, Monday - Saturday 10 am to 3 pm; Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm. Tours
originate at the official Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop, located outside the stadium at Gate 8.
Tickets are $10.00 for adults; $6.00 for seniors and children under 12. Children under 5

Mustangs of Las Colinas and Mandalay Canal
Visitors to the Dallas area should include a trip to Las Colinas, which means "the hills"
in Spanish and is a master-planned development within the city of Irving,

Texas. The visit should start with a trip to Williams Square where nine larger-than-life
bronze mustangs gallop through a granite stream. The Mustangs of Las Colinas, by African
wildlife sculptor Robert Glen, took seven years to complete and is the largest equestrian
sculpture in the world. Adjacent to the mustangs is the Mandalay Canal, an Old World
European waterway lined with trees and cobblestone walkways. Take a Venetian water taxi to
see more of the Mandalay Canal and the adjoining Lake Carolyn.
Movie Studios at Las Colinas
The Movie Studios at Las Colinas is a major film production complex that also offers tours
seven days a week. Home to famous blockbuster films like JFK, Leap of Faith, RoboCop and
Problem Child; the Movie Studios at Las Colinas recently opened the Addams

Family Theater. The theater offers the latest in film sound and special effects, complete
with audience participation. Over 100,000 visitors will tour the studios this year. Among
the sites during the one-hour tour are sets and props from Leap of Faith, Hunt for Red
October, Wayne's World, The Sound of Music, and the Oval Office set from JFK. Tours are
available from 10 am to 5 pm weekdays, and 10 am to 6 pm on weekends. Reservations are
recommended and tickets are $12.95 adults; $9.95 seniors; and $5.95 children 4-10. (972)
